– The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam houses the largest collection of Vincent Van Gogh’s artworks in the world. It’s not just paintings, but also includes his drawings and letters. Interestingly, Van Gogh was not famous during his lifetime and the museum was opened in 1973, long after his death.

– The Museum of Bags and Purses in Amsterdam is one of the only three museums in the world dedicated to handbags. It showcases the history of bags and purses from the Middle Ages to the present day. The museum’s collection includes over 5,000 items, including the handbag of Margaret Thatcher.

– The Anne Frank House, one of Amsterdam’s most visited museums, is actually the building where Anne Frank and her family hid from the Nazis during World War II. The original diary of Anne Frank is on display in this museum. However, the famous chestnut tree that Anne mentioned in her diary is no longer there as it fell down in 2010.
