– Arvydas Sabonis is considered one of the greatest basketball players in European history. He was born in Lithuania in 1964 and began playing basketball at a young age. Sabonis was known for his incredible size and skill on the court, standing at 7’3″ and weighing over 300 pounds.

– Sabonis played for the Soviet Union national team in the 1988 Olympics, where he won a gold medal. He also played for the Lithuanian national team in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics, where he won bronze medals. Sabonis was known for his incredible passing ability, and was often compared to NBA legend Bill Walton.

– Sabonis was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 1986, but did not join the team until 1995 due to political tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union. He played for the Trail Blazers for seven seasons, and was named an NBA All-Star in 1995. Sabonis was known for his incredible shooting ability, and was one of the first big men in the NBA to shoot three-pointers.
